Back to WordPress: A Smoother Blogging Experience

I spent some time today moving my blog back to WordPress, and there were two main reasons for the switch.

First, I wanted to experiment with some Cloudflare settings in preparation for upcoming discussions with the WordPress admin at work. There’s a lot of potential for optimizing proxy, caching, and bot protection, so I figured it made sense to test things out firsthand.

Second, WordPress simply makes posting so much easier compared to my previous static site setup. I had been using a Node package to generate static HTML from Markdown, which was cool and free to host on Cloudflare, but it felt clunky and didn’t get updated as often as I’d like.

Say what you will about WordPress, yes it can be clunky if you add too many plugins and its a little bloated but it does just work.
